Overall Impression:

OK so this review may seem a little long winded at first but work with me ok? Today I am getting my to-do’s together and I have a pile (literally) of reviews I have to get done and posted. As I am going thru the reviews I get a message that says “Hey just emailed you the Downfall 2012 and I think you are going to love it.”
Right off the bat the first thing that pops into my mind is “YES!!! These guys will be easy to review. They always come thru with some hard killer tracks and this is just what I need to put me into the review mode.” So I click on the track and well you know that head tilt derp face a dog makes when your talking to them and telling them what they want to hear? Yea, thats exactly what happened. I was like what the hell?!? This is Downfall 2012? I mean I have been radio promoting these guys since “Divinity” and if my old mind is not fooling me that was circa 2013.
So I start the track over, sit back and just am really in awe. I even picked up the phone to have some industry/musician friends take a listen which i NEVER do.  The vocal are fucking stunning. Clear, natural as in unforced yet with that grunt backing vocal that you love from them.
Instrumentally not holding back yet showing a softer side. The slight distortion in the guitar sound at the beginning, love it.

I have been in this internet radio business for a long time and I have come across a lot of bands. Downfall 2012 I have always dug and always supported. However this song is bitter sweet to me. The reason is THIS IS MAINSTREAM…THIS IS WHAT JUST BROUGHT THEM TO THAT NEXT LEVEL. I can not wait to see where this song is about to take them, showing the diversity they have via this song and being ready to release this song shows they are ready to take that leap. I joke a lot that internet radio is kind of like the old, and real, MTV. As I typed that the old MTV News saying “you hear it first” popped into my head and I have to laugh because that is what internet radio is, the pathway to the exposure for newer bands. When it comes to bands like Downfall 2012 I am glad we crossed paths and I get to watch this journey cause your lives are about to blow the fuck up with the release of this track. Cheers to you my friends.

Disclosure:
I am 1 person giving my 1 opinion on tracks/records and some may agree some may disagree. That is the beauty of any piece of art, each person sees it different.
When it comes down to it I am in radio and I am NOT a journalist nor do I pretend to play one on TV so please no grammer police etc.
